Highly Competent Denver Architect - Robert R. Larsen, A.I.A.

While employed by renowned Denver architect James Sudler, Robert Larsen prepared the drawings for the cutting-edge solar home above. Roof-top solar collectors generate heat which is stored in a large box of egg-sized rocks located in the basement. Fans then circulate the heat throughout the house. Three inches of synthetic stucco insulate the home.

The 3000 square foot caretakers' house below is designed to match the owner's adjacent ranch-style house. It incorporates passive solar design, utilizing a poured-in-place concrete stair to absorb heat. Sun-shading awnings are automated to control the amount of heat from the sun in summer months.
